Using the News Script

By | September 14, 2018

I have developed an easy to customize and install script that everyone can use to always have dynamic news content on their site. The Google search button next to each item does a search with the user’s AdSense account ID loaded, so that you will make a profit off of each click. The news content is refreshed on the CyberWyre server every ten minutes and the headlines reflect the current top 15 Internet searches.

To make use of it, all that is necessary is to insert a few simple lines of JavaScript into your page, and the script will adopt to your current site text style.

<script type="text/javascript">
userAdSense = "pub-1111111111111111";
</script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.cwire.org/newsSearch/newsUpdate.js"></script>

That’s it! You now have dynamic content on your site.

How to insert into a WordPress Blog:

Many of you may want to insert this script into a WordPress blog. This is very slightly more challenging than inserting it into a regular web page. First, you must download the Text Control plugin which can be downloaded from this link. Once you have installed and activated the plugin, write a new post, and then click Save and Continue Editing. You should now see a Custom Fields section near the bottom of the page. Configure the Text Control plugin here to read:

Format this post with: No Formatting  ;  No Character Encoding

Now, click Save and Continue Editing again. Select Users from the main menu bar and scroll to the bottom where it reads Personal Options. Uncheck Use the visual rich editor when writing. Now go back to your post, and paste the JavaScript code and save.

You are done! I don’t make any guarantees to the accuracy of this script or that it will always be available online. Use at your own risk. If it breaks your site’s layout don’t use it. I don’t moderate the content and make no claims to it; all content is pulled dynamically from Yahoo web services.

Enjoy.
